Senior Data Solution Architect

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Data Solution Architect that will focus on leading the architectural design of innovative data products/solutions across the enterprise. This role is critical in establishing a solid foundation for data management within an organization, ensuring that data is organized, accessible, secure, governed, and aligned with business objectives. More specifically, this architect will assist with creating new and rearchitecting existing data solutions (e.g., data warehouse, ODSs, advanced analytics, data integrations) to use new modern data platforms. 

The Architect will:

·         Work with business and technical leaders to architect solutions that include data processing/integration, data governance/quality, data delivery and data analytics that support of business initiatives across products, services, projects, and systems.

• Architect a new modern cloud-based data management platform that supports the medallion architecture and includes operational, data integration, data warehousing, business intelligence and advanced analytics (e.g., AI/ML) processes.
• Collaborate with product owners and managers to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product life cycle.
• Work with Data Modeling and Data Governance groups to create & promote a common data language and drive data consistency across systems.
• Define and manage standards, principles, patterns, guidelines, and processes to ensure that data is secure, governed, consistent, accessible with high quality.
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management, tools, storage, and analytics.
• Develop future state roadmaps for products and technologies that align to and enable business objectives.
• Assist Business Analysts and System Owners in defining technology and non-functional requirements for solutions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Technical Experience and Qualifications:

• Problem resolution, analysis and trouble shooting skills related to information architectural concepts that enable well architected and integrated transactional, analytical, and collaborative systems.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining data warehouse solutions including experience with complex data integrations using ETL/ELT processing that leverage OLAP databases and/or Big Data platforms.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience as a data solution architect that actively promotes and uses industry best practice architectural patterns in their architectural designs and implementations.
• Understanding of data modeling, schema design and performance optimization of data warehousing type workloads.
• Solid understanding of BI tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, Business Objects) used to create insightful and actionable reports and dashboards.
• Organizational, project management, and time management skills.
• Excellence in written, verbal and presentation skills when working with business leaders, project management/ARTS, and technical experts at all levels.
• Ability to listen for understanding, resolve conflicts, negotiate, compromise, and collaboratively lead business leaders and project teams to an optimal solution.
• Banking or other Financial Services experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a plus.
• A minimum of a bachelor degree in Computer Engineering/Science, Management Information Systems or similar.
• A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

Location: 

This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT. 

The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah.
