National Bank of Arizona is looking for an Associate Credit Analyst to join our Banker Development Program class beginning in June 2025.
The Banker Development Program at National Bank of Arizona is a credit and business development training program. Designed to grow well-rounded banking professionals with strong analytical and relationship management skills, the program provides robust training and career guidance. At the end of the program, participants will be well-prepared for a career at National Bank of Arizona.

The Banker Development Program offers:
- Foundational knowledge in banking
- A defined career path that begins with classroom training as a Credit Analyst

There are two phases of the Banker Development Program: The Initial Training Phase and the Rotational Phase.
Phase I – Initial Training (4-5 months)
The majority of training for the Banker Development Program will take place in Phoenix, but there also may be training in Salt Lake City, Utah at Zions Bancorporation headquarters for 2 training sessions that are each 2 weeks in length and in Houston for 1-2 weeks (pending covid travel restrictions). During this portion, topics surrounding introductory banking, analytical concepts, and bank-specific administration will be covered. Some travel may be required to complete this phase.
In addition to the self-study materials, during initial training Credit Analysts participate in:
- Case Studies and Discussion Sessions to review concepts introduced in the self-study materials
- Training to perform credit underwriting according to bank policy
- Bank compliance and regulatory training courses
- Introductions to senior management
- Department tours to provide an overview of bank operations
Phase II – Rotations (Around 12 months)
The primary objective of the Rotational Phase is on-the-job training, primarily in Phoenix. The rotational system offers each Credit Analyst in-depth exposure to various banking lines and banking groups, which facilitate the placement process and ensures the development of well-rounded Bank Officers. Various areas host Credit Analysts for rotations on an ongoing basis, dependent on departmental need. Some of the business line opportunities for rotation are listed below:
- Commercial and Industrial Lending
- Commercial Real Estate Lending
- Retail Banking
- Private Banking
- Treasury Management
- Credit Administration
Placement
Permanent positions after the program will be available within our Phoenix, Prescott, Flagstaff, and Tucson markets.
National Bank of Arizona is looking for highly motivated self-starters who have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related subject
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (include GPA in resume or cover letter)
- Completed college level coursework in Accounting, including Managerial and Financial Accounting
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented, organized, analytical, and proven problem-solving abilities
- Leadership skills and community involvement
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is preferred
- Internship or prior work experience is preferred
