We are seeking an experienced Senior AI Architect that will focus on leading the design, architecture, and implementation of AI solutions and innovative data products across the enterprise. This role is pivotal in leveraging Data and AI technologies, requiring a deep understanding of Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Multimodal models. The ideal candidate will be someone with hands-on AI experience that can work closely with Data Scientists and others to drive innovative AI architectures, techniques and projects.

We are continually modernizing many of Zions’ key banking applications/system and its banking core and strive to improve company efficiencies by using AI to automating repetitive tasks, optimizing processes, and provide data-driven insights for better decision-making. Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Data Scientists, Machine Learning & GenAI Engineers, Model Risk Management and Business teams to pilot use cases to ensure seamless integration with architectural strategies.
· Understand and contribute to MLOps and LLMOps, focusing on operational capabilities and infrastructure to deploy and manage ML and LLM models.
· Stay informed about cutting-edge AI technologies and industry standards, providing insights and suggestions for continuous improvement.
· Work closely with Security, Risk and Data Governance to foresee and mitigate risks, ensuring ethical AI implementation and compliance with existing and upcoming regulations.
· Training and educating others on diversity and proper use/governance of AI and other types of analytics.
· Support maturing the Enterprise Architecture practice by creating reference architectures, roadmaps, patterns, standards and promoting their adoption.
· Working closely with Data Scientists and others to architect solutions that can support the effective deployment of AI/ML models.
· Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to leverage shared technologies, tools and processes.
· Participating in business and technology strategic planning processes and guiding business capability and technical capability initiative roadmaps.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· 4+ years’ experience with AI technologies that include Machine Learning, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Multimodal models.
· 8+ years of experience with application architecture analysis, design, and delivery
· Deep understanding of model performance and scaling models in production environments.
· Familiarity with AI observability and troubleshooting models.
· Solid working experience with Enterprise Architects in promoting modern and innovative architectures.
· Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering preferably in Computer Science/Engineering, MIS or related field.
· Proven track record of influencing change and leading strategic enterprise IT initiatives to achieve well-defined business objectives.
· Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate effectively with business leaders and technical experts at all organizational levels.
· Ability to cultivate a shared strategic vision, articulate clear business objectives, and align the organization to achieve them.
· Banking or other Financial Services experience is a plus.
Location:
This position can be located 100% remote within the United States or will be a hybrid work from schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office if you are located within 50 miles of the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
Pay Range:
$180,000 – $230,000 (Based upon relatable skills/experience)
