Multifamily Agency Loan Sizing Analyst (Multifamily Agency Lending)

Zions Capital Markets is building a premier multifamily lending platform as a bank-sponsored dual GSE license holder with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Leveraging the strength of Zions Bancorporation’s national footprint and client relationships, the platform is focused on delivering high-quality capital solutions across the agency, balance sheet, and broader capital markets landscape.

Team Overview

The Originations team is responsible for sourcing, structuring, and executing multifamily loan opportunities for both agencies. As part of a new platform, the team is focused on driving production growth while maintaining strong credit discipline and execution quality.

Role Summary

The Multifamily Agency Loan Sizing Analyst will support senior originators in the evaluation and execution of multifamily transactions, playing a key role in both deal screening and transaction management. This role offers direct exposure to deal flow and client interaction, along with the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in agency lending, credit analysis, and capital markets execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal Screening & Underwriting Support
  • Analyze prospective lending opportunities and prepare initial underwriting assessments for multifamily transactions
  • Build and maintain financial models using property operating statements, rent rolls, and market data
  • Assist in sizing and structuring loans across Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
  • Prepare concise screening summaries and deal memoranda to support internal decision-making and agency engagement
  • Conduct research on markets, submarkets, and borrowers to support transaction evaluation
  • Transaction Execution
  • Support the end-to-end execution process, from deal intake through closing
  • Assist in drafting loan applications, indicative terms, and client deliverables
  • Coordinate with underwriting teams and third-party vendors to facilitate due diligence, including appraisals, engineering, and environmental reports
  • Interface with borrowers to collect required information and maintain transaction momentum
  • Review agency quotes and assist in evaluating optimal execution strategies

Capital Markets & Business Development Support

  • Support originators in client communications, meetings, and presentations
  • Track pipeline activity and maintain refinancing and business development opportunities
  • Contribute to marketing materials and strategic outreach initiatives

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with Underwriting and Closing teams to ensure consistency and efficiency throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Help identify and resolve execution challenges, supporting timely and successful closings
  • Maintain organized transaction records and pipeline reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial real estate, investment banking, or a related analytical role
  • Exposure to multifamily underwriting or agency lending is preferred

Core Competencies

  • Strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to interpret operating performance and build cash flow models
  • Familiarity with multifamily lending structures and capital sources, particularly Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac programs
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work product
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn, take ownership, and contribute to team success
  • Interest in developing a long-term career in multifamily lending and capital markets

 

Location:

This role can be located anywhere in the U.S.

 

Pay Range (Depending upon relatable skills and experience): $85,000 - $125,000
