Zions Bancorporation seeks a detail-oriented Trainer for our Mortgage group in the Enterprise Mortgage Strategic Initiatives and Development department. The Trainer will provide accurate training of systems and processes across the Enterprise Mortgage Lending team, as well as, provide loan system and troubleshooting support.  We need someone who can develop, maintain, and present training on mortgage product requirements and the Loan Origination System to Enterprise Mortgage team. Our ideal candidate has the ability to identify and respond to escalated operational issues, researching to determine root causes and recommends and implements resolutions. The individual in this role will act as Loan Origination System specialist to handle concerns and questions from all Enterprise Mortgage team members. The Trainer is critical to team member development and team member success and ultimately in creating success for our customers, shareholders, and team members.

 

This role will support our Mortgage team in Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, California, and Utah (across the footprint) and can be remote within that footprint.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Identify development needs within the mortgage line of business through job analysis and regular consultation with business managers and all mortgage departments.
  • Conduct ongoing training sessions for the enterprise job functions, processes and procedures. 
  • Create, design, and expand training and development programs and material based on the needs of the organization.
  • Develop training strategy to support key initiatives and work with management to determine training needs.
  • Provide strategic coaching to individuals and groups to assist managers and staff in reaching their goals.
  • Help department managers and trainers solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
  • Partner with other departments to complete various projects such as product launches and systems updates and rollouts.
  • Work as a team to produce programs that are satisfactory to all relevant parties in an organization, such as line managers, production team, operations, and senior managers at board level; devising individual learning plans; producing training materials.
  • Assess training effectiveness.  Manage the delivery of training and development for the organization; monitor and review the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers; ensure that statutory training requirements are met; evaluate training and development programs.
  • Amend and revise training programs as necessary, to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment.
  • Stay current on federal regulations, company policies, and company procedures to incorporate any changes/updates into curriculum on a regular basis.
  • Locate, administer, and deliver training materials, modules and programs for new and existing. employees to optimize individual and department performance through virtual classroom, e-Learning, regional meetings, and workshops to enhance knowledge, skills, and performance of staff
  • Track, measure and evaluate the progress and performance of those involved in the training courses.
  • Manage the learning environment to create a positive experience for participants.
  • Monitor participants’ progress during class and provide feedback to management.
  • Maintain records on all training provided. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Support group by traveling to other locations to train classes when needed.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Requires a high school degree and 2+ years of experience in training methods and practices, writing, communications development or other directly related experience.
  • Some college and experience in course development preferred.
  • A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications. 
  • Proficient knowledge of training techniques, practices, and methodology.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development, processes, and procedures a plus.
  • Ability to write/rewrite training materials.
  • Good presentation and people skills.
  • Mortgage operations experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of Encompass 360 (nice to have / not required)
  • Must have good understanding of technology, time management and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to conduct and facilitate training courses. 
  • Ability to evaluate, track and analyze training effectiveness.

 

 

Pay range (depending on experience): $45,000 - $70,000
