Under the leadership of our new Chief Marketing Officer, we’re building a modern, data driven marketing engine; complete with an in-house Creative Studio and a next‑gen Channel Execution Team that’s reshaping how we connect with customers.

 

As a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) Intern within the MarTech team, you’ll play an essential role in enhancing and optimizing the technologies that power our Marketing ecosystem. You’ll work alongside Product Managers, Engineers, Analysts, and Marketers to help ensure our platforms and processes support the bank’s strategic goals.

 

This is not a “sit back and observe” internship; it’s a hands-on opportunity to learn how enterprise MarTech systems operate, how teams collaborate in agile environments, and how business analysis drives real impact.

 

About the Role

 

Zions Bancorporation’s Cross Affiliate Marketing team is seeking a Business Systems Analyst, MarTech Intern to support the continuous improvement of the bank’s Marketing Technology ecosystem.

 

As a Business Systems Analyst, MarTech Intern, you’ll act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. You will help translate strategic Marketing Technology goals into clear business requirements, process improvements, and system enhancements. You will gain hands-on experience with enterprise marketing platforms, agile delivery practices, and real-world business analysis.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in gathering, reviewing, and documenting business requirements for marketing technology initiatives.
  • Participate in mapping current state and future state business processes to support system improvements.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Teams to understand product vision and help refine user stories.
  • Support backlog management activities by helping analyze, organize, and prioritize technical and functional requests.
  • Attend Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives to gain exposure to modern delivery practices.
  • Conduct research on marketing technology trends and upcoming platform releases.
  • Help evaluate system issues, identify potential risks, and support resolution efforts with guidance from senior team members.
  • Help review system usage, provision or remove access as per review.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, documentation, and reports for stakeholders across Marketing, Technology, and Product teams.
  • Build strong working relationships with cross functional partners and develop an understanding of enterprise marketing solutions.

 

Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Information Systems, Marketing, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Interest in business analysis, marketing technology, systems design, or product development.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Curiosity, willingness to learn, and a proactive approach to new challenges.

 

Preferred (not required):

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement).
  • Exposure to business or systems analysis, coursework or project work.
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or other business process or requirements tracking platforms.
  • Interest in marketing technology (e.g., automation tools, CRM systems, sales enablement tools, and analytics platforms).
