Role Overview
As an Applied AI Scientist Intern, you will collaborate with the EDA team to analyze and model customer data, learn banking processes, and transform data into actionable insights. You will work alongside experienced Applied AI Scientists to design and prototype solutions that leverage advanced analytics and AI techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand business and data requirements
- Discover, clean, and transform data for analysis
- Design and build analytical and machine learning models
- Prototype and validate solutions
- Perform statistical analyses and interpret results
- Deliver diagnostic, descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive analytics
- Explore opportunities for machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI in predictive modeling, automation, and model training
- Communicate findings effectively across multiple levels of management
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field
- Strong quantitative background with applied statistics skills (distributions, hypothesis testing, regression, etc.)
- Familiarity with predictive modeling, machine learning, generative AI, and data mining techniques
- Proficiency in programming and data science tools:
- Languages: Python, R, or Java
- Libraries/Frameworks: NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow
- Visualization: Matplotlib, Seaborn, GGPlot, Tableau, Power BI
- Languages: Python, R, or Java
- Experience with SQL; exposure to Hadoop, Hive, or Spark is a plus
- Knowledge of ETL workflows and scheduling tools is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate across teams and work independently
- Banking or financial services experience is a plus
- Familiarity with formal project management methodologies preferred

This internship will be based at our brand-new Zions Technology Center.
