We are seeking a Commercial Portfolio Manager to join Zions Bancorporation. The Portfolio Manager plays a key role in supporting multiple Relationship Managers (RMs) by managing a diverse portfolio of commercial, real estate, consumer and mortgage credit relationships. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a broad range of credit opportunities, with analysis of business and individual financial statements and assisting Relationship Managers with underwriting, risk mitigation, and credit overrides. The role is ideal for candidates with strong credit experience who are eager to expand their expertise in both consumer and commercial lending environments. Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and service a portfolio of commercial, consumer, and mortgage credit relationships, supporting multiple Relationship Managers. 
  • Assist Relationship Managers with credit requests, deal structuring, and overrides for commercial and consumer loans. 
  • Perform detailed analysis and risk mitigation on a diversified portfolio of commercial and consumer clients, with an emphasis on individual financial statements and cash flow. 
  • Spread and analyze financial statements for businesses and individuals. 
  • Address industry risks, collateral requirements, loan structuring, and pricing. 
  • Monitor credit performance, prepare loan presentations, and handle reporting on past due loans, documentation, and collateral exceptions. 
  • Maintain and expand client relationships, ensuring a high degree of customer satisfaction. 
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to support credit and portfolio management activities. 
  • Take primary responsibility for system boarding of commercial loans. 
  • Work across and collaborate with many different functional areas of the organization. 
  • Contribute to the development of organizational goals and objectives. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • 4+ years of credit-associated lending experience, or 7+ years of related experience. 
  • Advanced knowledge of credit analysis, financial statement spreading, and underwriting, especially for individuals. 
  • Experience with consumer and/or commercial lending, including risk mitigation and loan documentation. 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 
  • Proficiency in PC skills and experience with bank loan and deposit systems preferred. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for client and internal interactions. 
  • Ability to work independently under limited direction and develop solutions to complex problems. 
  • Experience supporting multiple stakeholders and managing a high volume of diverse credit requests. 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Location and Work Arrangement: 

 

This position is five days in the office at our downtown headquarters. 

 

Located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, the Zions Bank Building serves as the headquarters of both Zions Bancorporation and Zions Bank. The building sits adjacent to City Creek Center, a world-class shopping and dining destination with more than 100 stores and restaurants. The Zions Bank Building stands tall among Salt Lake City’s central business district, providing hundreds of team members with an exceptional work environment and features such as:
