The ideal candidate for the Commercial Loan Specialist Lead position will have the skills and experience necessary to:

 

  • Function as the lead for small groups of staff employees.
  • Handle complex and difficult loan processes.
  • Service as business expert in area assigned.
  • Use judgment and analysis of multiple governing corporate policies.
  • Responsible to lead, train and mentor lower level specialists.
  • Responsible for creating metric reports for the group.
  • Provide administrative and/or operational support within the one or more of the following loan areas; processing, closing, presentations, servicing, documentation, notes, disbursements, etc.
  • May clear identified loan exceptions.
  • Maintain files, documents, notes, etc.
  • Verify completeness of files with all necessary documents and signatures required.
  • Perform review of targeted collateral documents and loan packages to insure bank's security interest and adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Update computer system with pertinent collateral information and collateral exception information; tracks and clears said exceptions.
  • Work with lending staff in resolving discrepancies in collateral documentation.
  • Research and process rejected payments and handles payments received when collateral is released.
  • Calculate pre-payments penalties and coordinates settle escrow funds when a loan is paid off.
  • Conduct complete and accurate payoff transactions.
  • Produce reports as required.
  • Participate in projects.
  • Support day to day production team to meet service and quality promises.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Requires High School diploma or equivalent and 6+ years banking or loan processing, documentation, servicing or other directly related experience.
  • A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of lending processes, procedures, loan documentation, exceptions, collateral review, payment and loan systems.
  • Advanced working knowledge of banking processes.
  • Must have excellent organizational and customer service skills.
  • Must be accurate, possess excellent numeric and verbal aptitudes.
  • Excellent research, audit and communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to complete processes and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced working knowledge pc's and various word processing, spreadsheet or related software.
  • Ability to lead and mentor lower level employees and handle complex problems and issues.
