Zions Capital Markets is hiring a Business Execution Associate to join the Business Unit Risk Management team responsible for efficiently and effectively managing risk across the Capital Markets division. This role will support all business lines within Zions Capital Markets including Debt Capital Markets, Sales & Trading, Investment Banking, and Real Estate Capital Markets. This is a new position, and it will report to the Head of Business Unit Risk Management who reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Zions Capital Markets.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the Head of Business Unit Risk Management, COO, Division Heads/Team Members, and strategic partners (e.g. Enterprise Risk Programs (ERPs), Business Initiatives Management, Technology, etc.) to efficiently and effectively identify, manage, and mitigate risk across the Capital Markets division. Examples include strategic planning, risk identification, business process management, control development and testing, issue identification and remediation, third party risk management, business continuity planning, industry/regulatory changes, c-suite management requests, and management presentations/analysis/reporting.
  • Daily collaboration with Capital Markets business heads/employees and other key stakeholders including Risk Management, Compliance, Supply Chain, Accounting/Finance, Treasury, Project Office, Legal, etc. to ensure successful business and risk management outcomes for the Capital Markets division.
  • Create & deliver executive-level communications, presentations, reporting, and metrics of the supported businesses in relation to their status across enterprise-level risk management programs.
  • Develop and maintain governance documents, including policies, procedures, and process-level documents, ensuring documents are accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain a culture where processes and controls are continually monitored and evaluated against risks where gaps are identified and resolved in a timely basis.
  • Drive results and foster a culture of excellence, innovation, thought leadership, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Occasional travel to office locations with Capital Markets team members and/or business constituents/strategic enablers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field and 5+ years of Risk Management, Management Consulting, Business Operations and/or Business Management experience in Financial Services. A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements.

 

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a capital markets division at a financial institution or providing consulting services for capital markets platforms strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets products, services, and markets including Derivatives (Interest Rates, Commodities, Foreign Exchange, Structured Products, and Credit), FX, Loan Syndications, Securities Underwriting, Real Estate Capital Markets, and Investment Banking/Advisory.
  • Strong knowledge and related experience driving various sized initiatives across a Capital Markets platform including risk scoping, process mapping, resource planning, task execution, artifact management, expense management, monitoring, and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets business processes, applications, industry norms, best practices, expectations, etc.
  • Strong level knowledge and experience creating management (including C-suite) level presentations, reporting, and analysis.
  • Strong in identifying and managing risk and issues; issue identification and root cause analysis, requirement gathering, remediation planning and prioritization, roadmap creation and management, and development and execution of deliverables and controls.
  • Strong analytical skills particularly around risk analysis and risk program management.
  • Strong and influential communicator who is articulate and can independently connect with senior leaders.
  • Some knowledge and experience with Risk ID, RCSA, BCP, ECM, IM, ORE, CRM, TPRM, MRM, and operational risk is preferred.
  • Some knowledge of applicable capital markets regulations (OCC, FINRA, MSRB, CFTC, etc.). Experience interpreting, planning, and executing implementations of new processes, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • High level of focus on work quality, multi-tasking, and attention to detail.
