Zions Bancorporation is currently looking for a Calypso Application Developer. As an Application Developer you will be to work with engineering and architecture teams to produce high-quality technology solutions for the Capital Market Derivatives Technology team.
Responsibilities:
- Participating in an environment rapidly transforming to the Agile methodology, adhering to best practices and collaborating effectively with your teammates.
- Collaborating and contributing insight to solution design ideation, ensuring both the success of the product and adherence to enterprise architecture principles.
- Designing, modifying, developing and implementing software solutions.
- Building modern, architecturally sound components, tools and applications to meet mission-driven strategic business goals.
- Infusing quality of service characteristics, such as scalability, manageability and maintainability, into distributed service-based framework to create or expand business or technical capabilities.
- Employing industry best practices to evaluate, correct and prevent vulnerabilities during the software development process.
- Responsible to support and maintain various capital market technology platforms.
- Responsible for technical analysis, application development, application configuration, incident response and resolution, troubleshooting, testing, configuration management, source code management and executing and managing change processes.
- Develops software solutions by studying requirements analysis and information needs; conferring with stakeholders and IT Management; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; performs software design using software development fundamentals and processes, debug, test, and deploy software solutions.
- May be responsible for design and development to include the use of both out-of-the-box components and custom development.
- Reviews, analyzes, evaluates business processes, procedures, systems and make recommendations for improvements and changes.
- Utilizes application knowledge to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve problems. Manage source code version control system artifacts.
- Work with Business Analysts to design technical requirements and perform application changes.
- Conduct unit testing, provide input for feasibility, and prepare systems documentation. Executes and manages change and release processes.
- Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
- Builds proof of concept examples or graphical simulation software. Maintains product test software and demos for training purposes.
- Participates in product design reviews by providing creative and practical ideas and solutions.
- Collaborate with customer service, product managers, developers and IT to make user experience more intuitive and achieve product goals.
- Research, consider and apply user insights, feedback, measurements, and usability findings to designs and revisions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Requires 10+ years of directly related experience supporting Adenza’s Calypso platforms and infrastructure, ideally in a regional bank setting.
- Experience with Calypso systems configuration, implementation and testing for derivatives and futures products across the entire trading lifecycle including front, middle and back-office processing.
- Experience configuring, customizing and extending Calypso application modules for interest rates, commodities, FX, FX Options, credit derivative, clearing exchange traded derivatives, credit risk and market risk.
- Thorough understanding and experience with General Ledger accounting, FIN39 accounting, collateral management, ISDA SIMM and Swift processing.
- Hands on experience integrating Calypso with financial market utilities such as DTCC SDR, Markitwire, Bloomberg TOMS SEF, WebICE, AcadiaSoft and TriResolve and with internal systems such as General Ledger, Swift, FedWire, ACH.
- Deep understanding of market data management, industry standard utilities such as Bloomberg B-Pipe & Data License.
- Experience developing and/or supporting applications such as: Java, JBoss, MQ, ETL and API development.
- Experience working with one of the following platforms: UNIX, Oracle SQL or Linux.
- In depth programming languages experience with Java AWS/AZURE/GCP
- Experience with AWS cloud services, DevSecOPs CICD pipeline (Bitbucket, Nexus, Jenkins, Terraform or equivalents), ideally experience with Nasdaq CapCloud (Oracle) environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor software engineers.
- Thorough understanding of RDBMS and SQL, market and credit risk, data lake and AWS or Azure cloud services.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or a related field and 10+ yrs experience with software and/or application development using multiple technologies, languages, databases, integrations, frameworks, systems, application development, testing and troubleshooting or other directly related experience.
- A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
- Expert knowledge of application development using multiple technologies, languages, databases, integrations, frameworks, systems, application development, testing and troubleshooting.
- Expert knowledge of software development lifecycles, SQL and database systems. Expert knowledge of Java programming and application servers
- Expert knowledge of data modeling concepts and integrated application development methodology.
- Expert debugging, problem solving and testing skills.
- Expert knowledge of software design, integration, as well as highly scalable and high-performance software development.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and map to various programs. Excellent analysis, judgment, project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communicate skills, both verbal and written with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing technology and priorities.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple concurrent projects, prioritize and manage projects effectively.
- Ability to interpret, validate and map business requirements to an appropriate solution. Advanced working knowledge of Front-end scripting capabilities (Velocity, JavaScript, or JSP).
Location:
This position can be located 100% remote within the United States or will be a hybrid work schedule (3/4 days a week in office) if you are within 50 miles of the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
Salary Range:
$200,000 - $230,000 (Depending upon relatable experience)
