We are seeking an experienced senior level AI Solution Architect/Designer that will focus on leading the design and architecture around the creation, design, implementation and monitoring of AI solutions and innovative data products across the enterprise.  This role is pivotal in leveraging Data and AI technologies to solve business challenges and requires a deep understanding of Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Multimodal models.  The ideal candidate is an AI Solution Designer with hands-on AI experience that desires to move into an architectural role to allow them to have a broader influence within the organization.

We are continually modernizing many of Zions’ key banking applications/system and its banking core and strive to improve company efficiencies by using AI to automating repetitive tasks, optimizing processes, and provide data-driven insights for better decision-making. The Senior AI Architect Responsibilities and Accountabilities will include:

  • Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architects, Data Scientists, Machine Learning & GenAI Engineers, Model Risk Management, MLOps, and Business teams to pilot use cases, ensuring seamless integration and implementation are in line with architectural strategies.
  • Contribute to MLOps and LLMOps, focusing on operational capabilities and infrastructure for deploying and managing ML and LLM models.
  • Stay abreast of cutting-edge AI technologies and industry standards, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Engage hands-on with teams to validate new technologies and methods.
  • Work closely with Security, Risk, and Data Governance teams to anticipate and mitigate risks, ensuring ethical AI implementation and compliance with current and forthcoming regulations.
  • Train and educate stakeholders on diversity, proper use, and governance of AI and other analytics.
  • Enhance the Enterprise Architecture practice by developing reference architectures, roadmaps, patterns, and standards, and promoting their adoption.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and leverage shared technologies, tools, and processes.
  • Participate in business and technology strategic planning processes, guiding business capability and technical capability initiative roadmaps.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience with AI technologies, including Machine Learning, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Multimodal models.
  • At least 8 years of experience in application architecture analysis, design, and delivery.
  • Able to work hands-on to build Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to validate architectural patterns and solutions meet business and technical requirements.
  • Proficiency in AI observability and troubleshooting models.
  • Familiarity with model deployment, model performance tuning and scaling in production environments.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Architects to promote modern and innovative architectures.
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree, preferably in Math, Statistics, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field.  A PhD is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with business leaders and technical experts at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to cultivate a shared strategic vision, articulate clear business objectives, and align the organization to achieve them.
  • Experience in Banking or Financial Services is a plus.

Location:
This position can be located 100% remote within the United States or will be a hybrid work from schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office if you are located within 50 miles of the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.


Pay Range:
$180,000 – $230,000 (Based upon relatable skills/experience)
