This relationship manager role will provide top notch services to our clients and customers in Century City, CA, or surrounding CA cities.  If you are passionate about being part of a community, being a team player, and helping others reach their financial goals, then we are interested in speaking with you!

This position may sit in Century City, CA, or anywhere in the CB&T footprint (San Diego, Los Angeles, Irvine, Bay Area, Sacramento, or surrounding) or in our Zions footprint.  These cities will also be considered Salt Lake City, Denver, Houston, Henderson/Las Vegas or Phoenix.


Essential Functions:

  • Implements lending programs to increase CB&T's affordable housing loan volume.
  • Conducts marketing calls with developers, syndicators, and community development organizations.
  • Develops and implements marketing plans to expand relationships with organizations in the affordable housing industry.
  • Drafts affordable housing construction and term credit presentations for Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) transactions.
  • Analyzes operational and financial statements and processes of developers and LIHTC syndicator to evaluate competitive distinctions.
  • Negotiates loan terms and conditions.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements. Interfaces with loan administrators to assist with loan closings.
  • Oversees the portfolio through the construction process and conversion to permanent financing.
  • Coordinates work with internal departments and external professional specialists including legal, appraisal and engineering cost review.
  • Analyzes risks and profitability of assigned client base to ensure ongoing profitability and conformity with credit terms.
  • Responsible for preparing internal reports on total portfolio risk.
  • Monitors the total relationship exposure for  developer sponsors/guarantors to conform with approved limits.
  • Actively participate in industry trends relating to affordable housing discipline.




Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field and 6+ years commercial real estate lending, underwriting, loan closing and sales experience with 3 years of mid-level affordable housing lending experience.


  • Working with affordable housing tax credit syndications, lending and sales principles, theories, and concepts is required. 
  • Extensive knowledge of the affordable housing lending and syndicator market is required.
  • Creative problem solving, negotiation and presentation skills are required.
  • A demonstrated ability to develop and maintain major banking relationships is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Commercial/CRE/C&I lending and exposure to finance and credit analysis
  • Knowledge of commercial credit analysis, spreading and analyzing financial statements, credit scoring, and underwriting.
  • Detail oriented, ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with strong financial and credit analysis skills are essential to this role.
