Volunteerism

One of the Guiding Principles of Zions Bancorporation is to be actively engaged in community issues and help provide creative solutions to community needs. All employees are encouraged to be active participants in their communities. Annually, Zions Bancorporation employees contribute more than 100,000 hours to worthy organizations and projects in the communities where they live. They serve on boards, assist with community programs, teach students about finances and more.

The opportunities Zions provides for employee community involvement include:

  • Teach Children to Save Day, a bankwide event designed to help K-12 students understand the importance of saving for the future;
  • The Zions Bank Paint-a-Thon, an annual event that brings employees, their families and friends together to paint homes of senior citizens and the disabled;
  • Annual food drives to support food pantries, having raised enough to provide more than a million meals for those in need so far;
  • Evening meal service monthly in which employees donate three hours to preparing and serving an evening meal to the homeless;
  • Annual United Way campaign and annual service projects for the United Way Day of Caring;
  • Leadership programs as part of United Way, such as the Young Leaders, Women United, Leadership Circle and Tocqueville Society; and

Community Support

Zions Bancorporation supports community organizations and events through donations and sponsorships, while serving a diverse population of employees, customers, consumers and communities. Decisions about donations or sponsorships are made by regional committees. Contributions are made to organizations in the following categories:
