Zions Bancorporation is currently seeking a well-qualified Loan Syndication Professional for the role of Associate Director.


The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following essential job duties:


  • Responsible for contributing to all aspects of the syndication process when Zions is the Agent Bank.
  • Help determine optimal capital structure for client and jointly pitch proper debt solutions and other ancillary banking and capital markets products.
  • Participate in the negotiation, structuring, and syndication of multi-bank transactions where Zions is the lead/agent bank.
  • Stay abreast of current market conditions and trends to provide market feedback regarding transaction structures and pricing to deal teams, credit officers, and other internal parties.
  • Compose and/or review various internal memos required to support syndicated transactions (syndication opinions, fee accounting, etc.).
  • Prepare and/or review Zions marketing materials and maintain current templates for such materials.
  • Assists with the preparation and negotiation of legal documents such as fee letters, non-disclosure agreements, mandate agreements, commitment letters, credit agreements, etc.
  • Conduct market screening for potential transactions prior to launch to assess syndication risk and work with the client to target lenders to invite to the transaction.
  • Coordinate closing activities with third-party lenders, business units, and internal functional areas.
  • Track, answer, or coordinate answers to diligence questions from third-party lenders in consultation with senior members of the Loan Syndications Group and relevant business units.
  • Assist with the development and training of junior staff.
  • Supports internal Relationship Managers on prospective syndicated loan deals and assist in reviewing new lead opportunities.
  • Prepare and/or review syndications materials such as confidential information memorandums, term sheets, lender presentations, financial models, and other marketing materials and distribute as need to prospective lenders.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of syndication partners, including local and regional banks, and bank loan syndications trading partners, and other financial institutions.
  • Actively sources loan market data and maintain database of comparable transactions and competitors.
  • Assist senior members of the group with all internal matters and with all other responsibilities as required by the group.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of products and current market terms and conditions.
  • Some travel required.


Qualifications -


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or another business-related focus.
  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of high academic achievement.
  • MBA, CFA, and/or a formal credit training program, a plus.
  • Series 79 (or grandfathered series 7) and Series 63 is not a prerequisite but will be required to perform the job.
  • Prior corporate, commercial, or investment banking experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to review extensive and complicated reports and distill key findings into executive summaries efficiently and accurately.
  • Ability to learn and apply complex concepts quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines and effective time management when managing multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Possess excellent writing skills.
  • Team player possessing an outgoing nature with excellent sales, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required.
