A Bachelor’s degree and 2 + years of experience with municipal consulting, local government administration, finance, accounting, marketing, public relations or related field. Applicants should understand local government operations and issues and be familiar with the political structure and procedures surrounding local governments. A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements.
Ability to identify, manage and solve project problems from start to completion.
Excellent communication, presentation and inter-personal skills.
Strong analytical, quantitative, verbal, written, and negotiating skills.
Analytical ability required to gather, summarize, and interpret data for reports with a penchant for design and layout that makes data accessible to an audience.
Ability to clearly and succinctly express complex financial concepts both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a heavily deadline-oriented environment.
Superior expertise in managing multiple project-oriented tasks and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while being team-oriented.
- Excellent problem resolution and organizational skills.
Ability to perceive beyond the obvious when developing solutions and adapt to unique circumstances rather than applying cookie-cutter remedies.
Must possess a high level of motivation, initiative and leadership skills.
Proven strategic thinking, communication, time management, and presentation skills.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Ability to quickly learn other finance-related software products as needed.
