California Bank and Trust, a leader amongst banks in California, with over $10 billion in assets and nearly 100 branch offices in the state, is looking for a Business Banking Area Manager to work in our Walnut Creek Office covering everything from business banking to lower middle market segments. This position is a working manager role where the new employee would be creating new business development opportunities along with managing 2-5 employees.

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • This position handles everything from Business Banking to Lower Middle Market segments.
  • Responsible for performance and sales coaching of business bankers/relationship managers and Credit Underwriters in region. Implements approved credit policies, procedures, and sales process.
  • Responsible for managing the increase in region's market share.
  • Leads, develops and implements loan, deposit and fee income production and budget goals.
  • Responsible for overseeing the successful and profitable operation of the business banking market segment for assigned region.
  • Responsible for credit quality and sales performance within region.
  • Recruits, trains and develops business bankers/relationship managers.
  • Handles and resolves business line credit issues and complaints in region.
  • Responsible to mentor and train officers on credit.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field and 10+ years of business banking experience with 5+ years managerial experience or other directly related experience. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
  • Expert knowledge of lending, credit analysis, underwriting, structuring, etc.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching sales skills and experience leading sales team.
  • Must have excellent organizational, management, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent customer relation and problem resolution skills.
  • Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts.
  • Requires a considerable working knowledge of other related fields and the ability to apply that information to current role.
  • Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness in decision making and problem solving.
